Personalizing Your Diagnosis Module

One of the first things you will want to do to your diagnosis module is set the appropriate diagnoses to your pick list. Does this mean you have to go through all 15,000+ codes? Not at all. There are a couple steps involved, but it’s relatively quick and easy. In a nutshell, you will need to find codes and then decide which of that bunch to include. Finding the Current Pick List It’s a good idea to see if any codes are already set for the pick list. To do this, click on  and click Y in the Pick List field (the Find screen is below) and then press the [enter] key on your keypad.

This will find all the records already set for this list and display them in List View. They will be sorted according to the ICD-9 code and a list created (see top of next page please).

Clicking Return will take you back to the main screen.

·      If this list contains codes you use, you don’t have to do anything.

·      If this list contains some codes you do use and some you don’t, change the  to  by clicking on the N of those codes you don’t need.

·      Of course, if this list is way off and doesn’t contain any codes you need, click  at the top of the Pick List column. You will be asked if you’re sure you want to remove all these diagnoses from your pick list (see dialog box below). Click OK and they will all be changed from Y to N.

Another way of finding the diagnoses in the current pick list is to click  on the list view screen.
